LD Specialist and High Tech Center Instructor
(Back to Current Professional Postings)
Santa Monica College is accepting applications for both a permanent full-time LD Specialist and a permanent full-time High Tech Center instructor. We hope to have the new people on board for Spring ‘08, so encourage applicants to send in their applications soon. The closing date is December 19, 2007 , so there’s not much time. To read the job description, go to http://www.smc.edu/employment/academic/p10.htm We have a wonderful DSPS program and this is a great place to work. If you’d like to find out more about the LD Specialist position, contact George Marcopulos (marcopulos_george@smc.edu or 310/434-3975). To find out more about the High Tech Center position, contact Ellen Cutler (cutler_ellen@smc.edu or 310/434-4496)
Also, we’ve just learned that one of our full-time counselors has been approved for a sabbatical for Fall ’08, so we’re desperately in need of part-time counselors to fill in. At this point, we have no pool of counselors looking for more hours and, even before the sabbatical approval, we were in need of qualified people. Maybe you have a part-timer looking for an extra job? Our counselors provide the same academic counseling as other SMC counselors and also make recommendations for disability accommodation. We’re hoping to have some potential candidates in mind by spring, so they can participate in a training program offered by the Counseling Dept. and required for all hourly counselors. If you know anyone you could recommend, please have them contact me, either by email (weil_mary-jane@smc.edu) or phone (310-434-4443).
Please help spread the word. LD SPECIALIST; High Tech Center INSTRUCTOR; PART-TIME COUNSELOR
Per Judy Schwartz, DSPS Coordinator, there will be valuable prizes for the people who refer the winning candidates.
