Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEU) is a measure used in continuing education programs, particularly those required in a licensed profession in order for the professional to maintain the license. CAPED 2012 Training & Convention “Capitol Strategies for Success” will offer these CEU’s:
- Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC)
The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities by promoting quality rehabilitation counseling services to individuals with disabilities through the certification of rehabilitation counselors and providing leadership in advocating for the rehabilitation counseling profession.
- Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) has a position statement and guidelines on the training, use, and supervision of speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs).
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
RID is a national membership organization representing the professionals who facilitate communication between people who are deaf or hard of hearing and people who hear. Interpreters serve as professional communicators in a vast array of settings such as: churches, schools, courtrooms, hospitals and theaters, as well as on political grandstands and television. RID’s function is to support our membership by providing the foundation needed to launch and sustain careers while ensuring quality service to the Deaf community. We do this through a four-pronged approach.
Please contact Jenn (Cook) McMahon at jcook@sdccd.edu if you are in search of CEU’s and your professional organization is not listed.
During the conference visit the Support Services table for all paperwork and questions!
