ADAPTED PHYSICAL EDUCATION – CAPED Interest Group (APE-CIG)
What is the Adapted Physical Education CIG?
The APE-CIG provides adapted physical education professionals with the opportunity to collaboratively ensure the quality of adapted physical education at the postsecondary level across the state.
APE-CIG Goals:
- To facilitate the exchange of information among personnel providing adapted physical education classes, assessment and programs for students with disabilities at the postsecondary level.
- To promote awareness and understanding of the benefits of physical activity for all individuals.
- To provide support, encouragement and a forum for communication to adapted physical education professionals
The APE-CIG welcomes all who provide service to and are interested in the discipline of adapted physical education.
Resources
Over the past five years, members of the APE-CIG have produced the California Community Colleges Adapted Physical Education Handbook, which is available on-line through the Chancellor’s Office web site (see link below).
